- Write on the board – disasters (in a map), ask what students know about these disasters:
- Titanic (a ship)
- Chernobil (a nuclear power plant)
- Disaster (in the middle of the map)
- Pompeii (a city)
- Open SB, p. 10, look at the picture:
- What is happening in the picture?
- What is dangerous? Why?
- What is not dangerous? What can you see here?
- New words.
- Listen CD 1 – 12, listen and repeat in chorus
- For candy task: Online mini quiz/game: britishcouncil, cambridge.
- Mini game:
- Clip the pictures with new words on the board
- smoke, volcano, temple, columns, theater, fountain, horse and cart, servant, statue, vase.
- Name the word, point your finger at the picture and tell us is that dangerous
- Open SB, p. 10, Ex.2, read the questions (do NOT show it on TV).
- Ex.2 – Listen CD 1- 13 and write the answers. Check answers in pairs then compare with the TV set.
- Open WB, p.10, read Ex. 2 – read across and down. The words we need: servants, smoke, theater, column, cart, temple, volcano, vase, fountain.
- Song – shake it off
Homework:
- Письменно написать в тетради вопросы на англ. Make up the questions from the words:
- — the gate — Where — take — children ? (answer – past)
- — What — Phoebe — like — in the gardens ? (answer – statues)
- — there — What — on the streets ? (carts and horses)
- — that — a volcano — or a mountain — there ? (answer – it was a volcano there)
- Выучить новые слова (SB p. 10 Ex.1 – прослушать CD 1 track 13 и выучить произношение всех новых слов )
- Прослушать CD 1 track 13 – 2 раза
- WB, p.10, Ex.1,2,3 (письменно)
- Петь песню – It’s my life и знать смысл всех строк (то есть перевод и значение на русском языке)
